Shah Jahan (1592-1666)

Shahab Uddin Muhammad Shah Jahan known “King of the World” was the fifth Mughal emperor born in 1592 to Emperor Jahangir. He was born as prince Khurram. He was the man behind the Shahjahanabad city constructed and built on the banks of the River Yamuna. This is the present day old Delhi with the majestic Red Fort, and Jama Masjid. The main Mughal monuments built by this Mughal emperor are Jama Masjid and Red Fort located at Delhi, the famous Pearl Mosque located at Agra Diwan-i-Am and Diwan-i-Khas in the fort of Delhi and the Taj Mahal.
